Summer Convention in Czech Republic

Hello!

I'm helping to organize a convention in Czech Republic (July 2-10) and I'm going to run several tournaments there on Saturday-Monday 2-4.

Planned are PSQ for Star Trek, PSQ for WARS, and also normal tournaments for ST, WARS and maybe LOTR. Some funny tournaments are very possible.

Majority of play will be on weekend to accomodate working people, but some games will be played on monday too. If you'll like the convention you can stay longer, as it lasts until 10.7.

Convention AVALCON 2005
Place: Chotebor, Czech Republic - 200km from Wien, 400km from Graz, 375km from Salzburg

The whole con is CHEAP Wink

One day pass is about 3 EUR. Hostels are about 5 EUR/night and hotels are from 7-10 EUR/night.
Chotebor is a small town (10.000 inhabitants) so there are some small pubs and restaurants, where you can eat a dinner for 4 EUR.

My question is:
Would you be interested in visiting this con and play some games?
I want to draw some people from Austria, Germany, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia and Czech Republic to meet there Wink

This is exactly why I transferred it from thursday to sunday Wink

(The main gaming day with PSQs)
Funny tournaments on saturday as a warm-up and big one on sunday...

WHen I started my job in Wien in 2004, I postponed my start from 1.7 to 10.7 because of this convention. Thankfully my boss said OK Wink

(Meeting a lot of weird people in medieval costumes, dancing DDR, watching LOTR on a projector, drinking a 0.30 euro beer and so on Wink

Sounds great! If you really have a WARS Tournament we (2 or 3 people from Linz) are interested to join the AVALCON for the weekend!

demos and play of WARS and ST

Sunday July 3rd:
Star Trek PSQ (BIG tournament)

Monday July 4rd:
WARS Draft
demos and play of WARS and ST

Other tournaments will be played by demand.

Yes, schedule is still valid.
Rooms are a bit problematic now, I believe there are some hostel rooms available and hotel rooms 10km nearby. I am going to inquiry about this.
How many people are interested?
NOW would be a good time to tell me.

Hello!

There are still some hostel rooms 250m from the event.
The price is about 6 euro per night.
There is also hotel available which is 12km from the event.
This price is 16 euro per night.

It would be best to reserve rooms ASAP, and I recommend hostel rooms. Although they are low quality, they are very near and you don't need to drive there in night. That may be impossible after some drinking Wink

Entry fee for convention is 4 euro per day (currently)

Distance from Graz is 404km
From Linz it is 244km
From Wien it is 206km
